Hello. Chuck, I'm afraid I have to disagree with your post.
The only reason for not being successful is because Fiverr doesn't like small selling sellers. They have "their system" to take care of that. I'm a seller level 2, and I'm selling a lot less than at the beginning. When I started, I was making $700 to $900. My buyer didn't have the budget to continue.
When I started selling $200 to $400, all went down. I do not appear in search.
They have so many restrictions. It's hard to deal with their "system."
I really hate at this point, Fiverr.
Now I'm not in the first 3 pages. I'm studying, making BR, but it all seems weird.
Being successful depends on how much you sell and their "system."
If you don't sell, you will not be in the first three pages, and if buyers don't see you, you will not sell at all. If you don't sell, you will not appear in the three pages, then you will not sell, so it's a vicious circle.
